Reverse Barometer: Championship Sunday

Yes, it’s Wednesday, but it’s never too early to get the Reverse Barometer out for a good solid look at the NFL Conference Championship games this weekend. And since we here at ScoreBoard nailed both Clemson’s National Championship and the Packers’ win at the Cowboys last Sunday, you may want to listen up. Or not. We’re on a roll but we’re also due for a loss, so read ahead at your own peril.

For those of you who are still drowning your sorrows in the Cowboys’ loss, get over it. Aaron Rodgers has done that to a few teams over the years. Time to look ahead.

A Great Day for DFW Sports, But…….

The literary classic A Tale of Two Cities begins, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” As I navigated my way through Wednesday this week I was reminded of this line.  That classic sports day was the best of times…and then it only got better.

Now, we are two days removed from the glow of what some have called the best sports day of the year, and I have three words for you; “Tap the Brakes!”

Stars or Mavs? Which Lower Seed Has a Chance?

The Stars and Mavs each punched their ticket to the playoffs over the weekend. The post-season starts for both later this week. Now the real question is – who will last longer?

Both teams are lower seeds in the playoffs. In these days of spots parity, the key may be just getting in the playoffs and see what happens. It was just two years ago that the LA Kings won the Stanley Cup as the No. 8 seed in the West.

The Stars have that same No. 8 seed and face the Anaheim Ducks. Dallas went 2-1-0 vs. the Ducks this season, winning the lone game at American Airlines Center and splitting the pair in Anaheim.
