2981

Meet a Texas orginal, Morgan Wade. Wade has been riding Freestyle BMX for over 20 years, with no signs of slowing down. He’s ridden in countless contests and events over the years, including riding in Nitro Circus Live shows, World Championships and the X Games 18 times, earning medals in 7 of those 18 years – two being gold. Wade was also voted Rider of the Year in the prestigious NORA Cup Awards.

The Texan is a legend among his peers, who respect his creative eye and willingness to go huge, consequences be damned. The BMX Big Air moniker fits his “go big or why bother” philosophy, and he owns the XG record for highest air on the quarterpipe (23’3, set at Barcelona 2013).

Wade is a a Krav Maga (self-defense) instructor who also frequently entertains the troops as part of Bikes Over Baghdad. “By far the most rewarding thing I’ve ever been a part of in my BMX career is Bikes over Baghdad,” said Wade. “We get to go to the Middle East and perform for our men and women in uniform and give them a much needed taste of home. There’s nothing like being able to do that for them – even if it’s only for a few hours. I’ve been a member of the team since 2012 and have been over there 15 times or so – I’ll keep going as long as they’ll let me.”

Wade resides in Tyler, Texas with wife Natalie and their son.
