The Dallas Mavericks and owner Mark Cuban are pulling out all the stops in their attempts to pitch free agents LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan come July 1, with our exclusive reporting that Dallas Cowboys headliners Jerry Jones, Dez Bryant and Tony Romo will be part of the basketball recruiting effort.

There  will be the usual suspects involved from the Mavericks side; Chandler Parsons, Rick Carlisle, Donnie Nelson and Cuban (based in LA for the push). And Dirk Nowitzki plays a role, too of course.

But Dallas Cowboys sources tell me that members of “America’s Team” plan to do some of the same.

“We’re preparing to do what we have to do, and we’re going to go out there and do it,” Cuban says … and here is some of that preparation: Jordan, the Clippers center, has the Mavs on his short list. The Mavs believe Aldridge, who might leave Portland, will listen, too. Both are Texas natives. Jordan is a huge Cowboys fan. Maybe Aldridge is as well. And both are about to get it from both barrels – the Mavs and the Cowboys.
